IT’S PARTY TIME!
The Castle Heights Party Book is one of our best FUNraisers (see what I did there??) for Friends of Castle Heights!
WHAT IS A PARTY BOOK?
Families within our community volunteer to cover the cost to throw a party - either at your home, at someone else’s home, an office, a classroom at the school, ANYWHERE – Castle Heights families pay to attend that party and all that money goes to our school’s non-profit, Friends of Castle Heights. We rely on our CHES families to host parties. They’re great fun and an excellent way to meet other people from our school.
WHAT KIND OF PARTY SHOULD I THROW?
We can help!! If you think you may want to host, grab a friend(s) to co-host. If you
can’t find anyone, talk to your child’s teacher about partnering on a class party for
your grade level. Or contact us at any time and we are happy to brainstorm with you.
Upcoming parties to look forward to: Cooking Class of Holiday Dishes, Family Tennis Clinic, Backyard Movie Nights, Mt. Wilson Astronomy Party and Tour, and that amazing party that YOU are dying to host!
Contact the chairs with any questions/ideas. We are here to help:

Mt. Wilson Tour
Saturday, December 7
2 - 7 pm
Location: Mt Wilson, CA (Note, attendees must arrange their own transportation to Mt Wilson. There is about 40 minutes of windy road driving from La Canada up to Mt Wilson)
Ages: Fun and educational for both kids and adults. Both kids and adults must be able to follow instructions as to what not to touch and where not to go.
Just over an hour's drive from Castle Heights in the San Gabriel Mountains lies Mt Wilson, where some of the most important observations in the history of astronomy were made. We all know now about galaxies far, far, away. Did you know that humans didn't know that galaxies other than the Milky Way existed until Hubble proved that in 1923 from Mt Wilson?
We'll start the party with a guided tour of the historic Mt Wilson observatories, then continue with a brief scenic nature hike. Then, get a tour of an operational research telescope facility and use that telescope to check out some stars, planets and satellites (weather permitting). Dinner, desert, and drinks, and amazing views of the Los Angeles basin will be provided.
Price per person: $75
All money goes to Friends of Castle Heights--so your kids can continue to enjoy our amazing programs!
